Licorice
Hello. My name is Licorice and I'm a black pony. I do not have any markings and interestingly, that it how most people know I'm me. Most ponies or horses have at least one marking. But I'm all black like licorice so you see how I got my name!
I love to jump and am careful with my form over the jumps. I tuck my knees high and am very careful to not touch any of the rails. I have a lot of pep in my step for a little guy, but am all business in the show ring. My cool head has helped me to win lots of ribbons. I am a bit of a show jumping star and expect the royal treatment. I love to have windows in my stall, my ribbons hung on the door, and to be groomed regularly so my coat gleams. I also like to parade around in my fancy clothing. I think it makes me look even sharper.
I knock on the stall door with my hoof when I'm hungry and I expect treats after competitions. My favorites are peppermints and sugar cubes.

- Feed:
- Every morning and evening I get one bucket of Paradise Performance PelletsTM and a flake from my hay bale.
- Farrier:
- My feet need to be kept in tip top shape so I see the farrier every four weeks.
- Vet:
- Like any athlete, the vet checks me out regularly.
- Clothes:
- In cold weather, I wear my stable blanket in my stall and my turnout blanket when I'm outside. In warmer weather, I only need my stable sheet in my stall. At horse shows I wear my cooler before and after going into the ring. On very warm days, I wear my fly sheet to and from the ring. I have to be careful in the sun because of my very dark coat - it can get bleached out. Then I'd have to change my name to Marshmallow!
