Hello. My name is Corduroy and I'm a chestnut horse. My muzzle is so soft it feels like corduroy - and that's how I got my name! I love to nuzzle with my horse buddies and human friends. I am very affectionate, and enjoy being groomed and pet.
I am also a very serious athlete. Because of my great jumping ability, I have won many of the puissance events that I have participated in. In particular, I have succeeded at show jumping because I have a lot of power and am very careful not to touch the rails. I am also very quick, so I excel during jump offs and speed classes. Not only do I do well, but I look good while doing it - always wearing my fly bonnet and boots in the show ring. I especially like it when I'm leading the victory gallop at the end of a class.
I spend a lot of time traveling and going to horse shows, so I particularly look forward to resting in my stall and grazing in the paddock. I love to listen to the birds and watch the deer in the woods. I also like to hang out with the other horses and tell them stories about my travels.
Thanks for giving me a loving new home and taking such good care of me.
- Feed:
- Three times a day I get one bucket of Paradise Performance PelletsTM with a flake of hay from my hay bale.
- Farrier:
- I need to have my feet trimmed every four weeks.
- Vet:
- I see the vet frequently since we are evaluated before each competition.
- Clothes:
- I always get a bath after I show and dry off while wearing my anti-sweat sheet. In warm weather, I wear a stable sheet in my stall. In colder weather, I wear a stable blanket in my stall and a turnout blanket outside. I love to wear my cooler to the ring.
